Happy colors

The statistics page appears now much more colorful which makes it easier to difference the criminal acts.

Updates hourly

Since a few hours, PrettyCrime is going to bring its database up to date hourly, enforced by a cronjob. And for those of you who think it's not enough - you still will be able to update immediately by visiting PrettyCrime and clicking the "Jetzt aktualisieren?"-Link.

Job description

PrettyCrime is an open source project, written in PHP and JavaScript. It's a crime map of Berlin, the capital city of Germany.

The project gets its data from the public police news items. A bayesian filter is used for classifying the news items. After that, the project maps the data on a GoogleMap. The running system is available only in German, sorry for that.

Any questions or comments are very welcome.

Here is the first screenshot of the program. It's a very alpha state, but you can see the basic functionality of our crime visualisation. Take care, in the meantime we're still developing. ;-)

Welcome to the PrettyCrime project web site. This is the first posting of PrettyCrime. Currently we're just in development state. PrettyCrime will be a webbased crime map visualisation of the crime of Germany's capital city Berlin.
