PrettyCrime is going to get offline

After beeing online for over one year, we deceided to set the running web site offline. Sorry for that, but the average fixed cost for the servers are too much and not profitable. If there are any sponsors wanting to benefit the project, feel free to contact us.

PrettyCrime still under development

There's something going on! There are successors for futher development on PrettyCrime. We're curious about it.

To sum up: PrettyCrime is still alive. Let's involve brachial aesthetics. :-)

Release of PrettyCrime 0.9

We proudly present the first official release of PrettyCrime 0.9. Download it at sourceforge.net or test the full functional web version. Have fun!

Happy colors

The statistics page appears now much more colorful which makes it easier to difference the criminal acts.

Updates hourly

Since a few hours, PrettyCrime is going to bring its database up to date hourly, enforced by a cronjob. And for those of you who think it's not enough - you still will be able to update immediately by visiting PrettyCrime and clicking the "Jetzt aktualisieren?"-Link.

Job description

PrettyCrime is an open source project, written in PHP and JavaScript. It's a crime map of Berlin, the capital city of Germany.

The project gets its data from the public police news items. A bayesian filter is used for classifying the news items. After that, the project maps the data on a GoogleMap. The running system is available only in German, sorry for that.
